Technical Specialist for Strategic Communications and Editing

Kelsey Allagood is the Technical Specialist for Strategic Communications and Editing at Democracy International. She is responsible for leading DI’s purposeful external and internal communications efforts, providing quality control by editing DI written products, and for developing and implementing workflow processes that draw on company-wide resources for strategic communications that position DI as an organization at the cutting edge of development, democracy, and resilience programming. In previous positions at DI, she worked on the Strategy & Outreach team where she managed and supported program design and proposal development, with a particular emphasis on peace and resilience strengthening, countering violent extremism, elections support, political processes, and political party development. Prior to joining DI in 2015, Ms. Allagood was the Manager of Foundation Programs at the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Foundation where she led a wide range of development efforts, including donor outreach, fundraising, scholarship distribution and tracking, and alumni stewardship. In this role, she coordinated nine scholarship programs worth more than $725,000.

Ms. Allagood received her M.A. in Conflict Resolution from Georgetown University, where she graduated with high honors, and her B.A. magna cum laude in International and Cultural Studies from the University of Tampa.
