Project Description
The Bangladesh Strengthening Accountability for Citizen Empowerment (B-SPACE) is a five-year program funded by the United Kingdom’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office implemented by Democracy International (DI) under The Asia Foundation’s Promoting Effective, Responsive and Inclusive Governance in Bangladesh project. B-SPACE’s objective is two-fold: to strengthen political parties’ internal democracy and foster inter-party tolerance and cooperation. The project builds on DI’s experience assisting Bangladeshi political parties to develop policies that respond to citizen priorities while defending and, when possible, expanding political space toward more inclusive and peaceful politics for more than a decade.
