Project Description

Democracy International conducted a democracy and governance (DG) assessment in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The DI team conducted fieldwork in Kinshasa and elsewhere in the country. The team cited massive government corruption and a weak judicial system as the core democratization problems facing the DRC. It recommended improved governance, especially better government management, and a strengthened judicial system as means to tackle corruption and end impunity.
