Project Description

In 2016 Democracy International conducted a conflict vulnerability assessment in Liberia using USAID’s Conflict Assessment Framework (CAF 2.0). In close partnership with the Office of Conflict Management and Mitigation (USAID/DCHA/CMM) and USAID/Liberia, the assessment team planned and conducted data collection in 13 Liberian counties with a wide variety of local and international stakeholders. The results from this assessment enabled USAID to better understand drivers of conflict in Liberia, assess the potential for future conflict, identify areas for programmatic engagement to mitigate conflict, and ensure that USAID programming does not exacerbate conflict dynamics in the country.
