Project Description

In 2017 Democracy International initiated the Strengthening Local Governance for Security and Development in El Salvador (SLOGSAD) Program in partnership with Louis Berger and funded by USAID/El Salvador. The program aims to enhance decentralization efforts and strengthen local government in El Salvador in order to increase overall security and development. DI will create a performance monitoring and evaluation matrix for the project in order to track the program’s progress against both standard and program-specific indicators. DI will conduct political economy analyses (PEAs) in order to understand the contextual factors affecting decentralization in El Salvador, which includes identifying the most pertinent stakeholders involved in the decentralization process. These PEAs will enhance DI’s method for collecting and measuring SLOGSAD data.
